Barnabas is a veteran suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder.
Biography[ | ]
Barnabas is the oldest character in the game, and a shut-in. Twenty years ago, Barnabas arrived in Vidar with Adorjan, Arpad, Branka, and Rozsa as refugees from war. Barnabas found that Vidar was situated in the middle of two warring factions, and would likely become a key battleground. In a stunning display of leadership and cunning, Barnabas led the villagers in a defense of the town. During the siege, he heard a story concerning the Boy King's lost wealth, and led a team into the caves beneath Vidar to find it. They encountered an army attempting to sneak into the village, and Adorjan was killed in the fight.
Since then, Barnabas has become an alcoholic, and rarely if ever leaves his house. At the start of the game, Barnabas will enter his house and lock the door; he will become inaccessible until the first of these happen:
- Player reaches the Boulder Cave.
- Day 20
- Rozsa's Funeral
