"Dr. Spore" is a quest given to the player by Gusztav. It is primarily completed in the Dark Cave, and is a quest which can trigger Robert to inherit the roll as doctor for Vidar.
Conditions[ | ]
The following conditions must be met for Gusztav to give the player this quest:
- "Flu Season" has never triggered
- At least one of the patients is still alive
- Day 2 or later
- Gusztav is alive and at the hospital
Completing the Quest[ | ]
Gusztav will ask the player to retrieve ten mushrooms from the Boulder Cave. There are ten varieties of mushrooms in the cave, but the variety is unimportant to Gusztav. Any ten mushrooms will allow the player to complete the quest, and duplicates are allowed (ie. the player can get ten of one variety of mushroom). The mushrooms are spread in every room of the Dark Cave, and have a random spawn point. There are 16-25 mushrooms spawned in any particular game.
Bring the mushrooms back to Gusztav to complete the quest.
Inheritance[ | ]
If Gusztav dies after giving the player this quest, it can still be completed. If Robert is alive and at the hospital, and if all of the remaining conditions for the quest are met (one patient is alive, "Flu Season" has never triggered), and if Cecilia is alive and not at the hospital, then Robert can inherit the quest. Because he is unsure of what mushrooms provide the best medicine, he will ask the player to get one of each type of mushroom.
Robert will then ask the player to come up with the correct recipe for a certain medicine. The player can attempt one recipe per day. Returning to Robert the day after completing the recipe successfully will complete the quest.
Rewards[ | ]
The rewards for the quest depend on whether the mushrooms are delivered to Gusztav or Robert.
- If the player completes the quest with Gusztav, nothing happens.
- If the player completes the quest with Robert, Robert becomes the Doctor.
